IMC has pioneered the Cross Agency Software solution to help state and regional law enforcement personnel do their job more effectively.

Our Cross Agency solution provides for an agency to access master names and case report information from another agency or agencies all using the Mobile Interface in combination with the Cross Agency Software.

Below is a list of steps that need to be followed in order to implement the Cross Agency Interface:
  • Be sure that the IMC Mobile Software is set up and running in each agency that desires to be a part of Cross Agency.
  • Determine which department will be the hub department. (Normally the department that has the best network connection is chosen)
  • Develop policies regarding what data will be shared among departments.
  • Develop policies on how the information will be used and what restrictions will be placed on the use of the data.
  • Set up a secure IP network connection between each spoke department and the hub department as shown in this document. Each department needs to be able to communicate with the hub and the hub needs to be able to communicate with each department but each department doesn't need to communicate with each other.
  • The following is a list of some suggested methods by which this secure transport network could be created:
    • Utilize the existing CJIS network in a state if permission is obtained.
    • A broadband(cable TV) or DSL line with proper security.
    • A frame relay line (56K or greater)
    • For smaller departments, a wireless modem could be utilized.
  • Determine what unique codes should be used to identify each department.
  • Identify regions (groups of departments) within the system that it would make sense to query separately.
  • Identify which three agencies will be the first to go on-line to verify the whole setup
  • Call IMC Technical Support to complete the Setup.
